  • Kanban Methodology

    Kanban is a framework used to implement agile software development. It requires real-time communication of capacity and full transparency of work. Kanban is Japanese for “visual signal” or “card”. Kanban is a scheduling system for lean manufacturing. It was developed to improve manufacturing efficiency. The system takes its name from the cards that track production within a factory. Kanban is a framework that falls under the Agile methodology. It was developed in the late 1940s by a Japanese engineer named Taiichi Ohno. Agile Kanban Framework focuses on visualizing the entire project on boards in order to increase project transparency and collaboration between team members.

    Agile project management can be described as an “incremental and iterative approach to delivering project requirements throughout the life cycle of a project”. Agile allows project management to be executed in any manner as long as the core principles of Agile are followed. Agile values and principles assist teams to interact in a way that can introduce agility in the project. There are frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban that can be followed to implement agile methodology in projects.
